Eucalyptus
and pine veneer.
Rotary-cut eucalyptus and pine veneer for plywood, LVL and engineered wood flooring mills, with the origin of every log on record.
Who it is for
Every lot
the same as the last.
LG Madeiras veneer is rotary-cut eucalyptus (grandis and dunnii) and pine veneer, produced in Ituporanga, Santa Catarina, Brazil, from our own and partner planted forests, mainly for plywood and LVL manufacturers in India and Southeast Asia, with FSC® certification and a dossier for EUDR due diligence.
For a plywood mill, what matters is veneer that arrives the same in every lot: same species, same moisture, same thickness. LG’s peeling line, installed in 2023, is fed with logs from our own harvesting chain, which gives us control over what goes into the lathe.
Most of our output is eucalyptus, for plywood cores and LVL. Pine veneer is light and easy to work.
Species
What comes off the lathe
- Eucalyptus grandisPlantation eucalyptus veneer, for plywood cores and LVL.
- Eucalyptus dunniiAlso for cores and LVL. Can be ordered on its own or in a mixed lot with grandis.
- PineLight veneer, easy to work, for plywood and other uses.
- Core veneerEucalyptus and pine: the inner ply that gives plywood stiffness and stability.
The wood
Why our veneer
- Fast growthPlanted forests that renew in short cycles, with a steady supply of logs.
- Density and strengthGrandis and dunnii have the density and mechanical strength that structural plywood and LVL require.
- Certified originPlanted forests under FSC® management, with the geolocation of every stand for the EUDR.
- Peeled from conditioned logsHigher veneer quality and fewer lathe checks, which means less glue in plywood and LVL production. Savings for the buyer.
Markets
From Brazil
to the world.
Our veneer goes mainly to LVL and plywood mills in India and Southeast Asia. Much of what they produce then ships to Europe and the United States.
That is why every lot leaves with FSC® certification and the origin dossier for the EUDR: the manufacturer passes these documents on to its European customer, who needs them to bring the product into the EU. We also serve other markets on request.
How we produce it
From log
to dry veneer.
- Applications
- Plywood · LVL · Engineered flooring
- Certification
- FSC® FSC-C215210
- Export
- EUDR dossier per shipment
- Specification
- To order
- 01Selected logs
Plantation eucalyptus and pine, kept separate by species from harvest.
- 02Log conditioning
Logs are conditioned with steam from our own boiler. The wood softens and the veneer comes out more uniform, with far fewer lathe checks.
- 03Debarker and lathe
The log goes through the debarker and on to the spindleless lathe, which peels a continuous sheet.
- 04Clipper
The sheet is clipped to the width the customer ordered.
- 05Dryer
The sheet dries with steam from the same boiler to the moisture content agreed with the customer.
- 06Grading and packing
Sheets are graded, packed and identified so the origin can be traced.
Quality
Inspected from lathe
to container.
Every lot is inspected during production and again at the dryer outlet. Every inspection is recorded and tied to the lot, together with the origin of the wood.
- Inspection at every stageVeneer is inspected during production and at the dryer outlet, by a trained team following a standard procedure.
- Records by lotEvery inspection is recorded and tied to the lot, from the source stand to the container.
- Technical reportOur quality control report is sent to customers on request.
- PackingBundles strapped with plastic bands, on wooden bearers and marked with the lot number.
- LoadingEvery container has its own dispatch report, with container number, tare, seal, booking and order, plus photos of the door, the interior and every layer of bundles. The report goes to the customer.
- Specification sheetEvery proposal comes with a written specification: quality grade, moisture content and the tolerances agreed for the order.

Frequently asked questions
Which eucalyptus species do you peel?
Eucalyptus grandis and Eucalyptus dunnii, from plantations. A lot can be grandis only, dunnii only or mixed, as ordered. We also produce pine veneer.
Which countries do you sell veneer to?
Our main customers are LVL and plywood manufacturers in India and Southeast Asia, many of whom export to Europe and the United States. We also serve other markets on request.
Why do you condition the logs before peeling?
Steam conditioning softens the wood before the lathe. The veneer comes out more uniform and with far fewer lathe checks, the small cracks the lathe opens on the face of the sheet. For plywood and LVL manufacturers, fewer lathe checks mean less glue in pressing.
How do you control veneer quality?
Veneer is inspected during production and again at the dryer outlet, following a standard procedure, and every inspection is recorded against the lot. Our technical quality control report is sent to customers on request.
What does the customer receive with each shipment?
Besides the export documents, the container dispatch report: container number, tare, seal, booking and order, with photos of the door, the interior and every layer of bundles. The technical specification of the order is agreed in writing in the proposal.
What is core veneer?
It is the veneer used in the inner plies of plywood, which give the panel stiffness and stability. LG Madeiras produces eucalyptus and pine core veneer.
Is eucalyptus veneer suitable for structural plywood and LVL?
Yes. Grandis and dunnii have good density and mechanical strength and are used by structural plywood and LVL manufacturers in Brazil and abroad.
Which thicknesses and sheet sizes do you supply?
We produce to specification: thickness, sheet size, moisture content and grading are agreed according to the application. Send us your specification and our sales team will confirm what we can supply.
Do you provide EUDR documentation?
Yes. Since much of our veneer becomes plywood and LVL sold in Europe, every shipment comes with a dossier containing the geolocation of the source forest and the supply chain documents, for the importer’s due diligence.
Is your veneer FSC® certified?
Yes. FSC® license FSC-C215210, with chain of custody NEO-COC-215210, issued by Preferred by Nature.
